Review: Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Mask

By mahoganyprincess · May 24, 2011

Finally, after about 2-3 long months, I finally found my moisturizer. Im so happy I almost feel like jumping up and down. At the beginning of my hair journey I immediately bought whatever the ladies with long hair used hoping it would work for me as well. I purchased like all of Organic Roots Stimulators products. If youre on K-I-S-S then you know ORS is pretty popular. So I bought the ORS Olive Oil moisturizing lotion. Results: HATE IT! Well I don't hate it but my hair does. I ended up having to use alot of product, it would saturate my hair, in the morning my hair would be dry as ever like I never moisturized. The other products I tried were Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship leave in conditioner (protein), Elasta QP Mango Butter - this wasnt so bad, and finally Cantu Shea butter leave in. All of these products contain protein and I simply needed a moisture only moisturizer.

Now comes the Shea Moisture line. I purchased the shampoo and the Deep Treatment Mask. I am so glad I found this product. It can be used as a deep conditioner, leave in conditioner, or moisturizer. I used it to moisturize and sealed with coconut oil and the results of my bantu-knots were amazing. My hair was parched and it drank this stuff right up! My hair was shiny, moisturized, and so soft. So 12 oz for $10 is alright with me, this has become one of my staples. This product claims to "deeply moisturizes and repairs hair, while providing a protective barrier for the hair from heat and styling aids" and yes it does exactly that! Im so excited about this product. I also bought the moisture retention shampoo, and leave in conditioner. I will be using this line exclusively. More reviews to come!
